With the XioSynth, 'plug & play' really means that, as the device is class compliant (Windows XP & Apple OSX), though the drivers provided minimise latency and make the XioSynth more stable with certain software platforms. As a controller, the XioSynth is pre-programmed to work with popular software straight out the box, and more templates are available on the Novation website. Incredibly (for the price) the XioSynth can operate as both a synthesizer and controller at the same time.
